- Dear Programmer,
-
- I chose PsL's Programming Section to be the first section to be added to our
- Monthly CD-ROM because many programmers have said that PsL has the largest and
- best organized disk-based collection of pd/shareware programming tools and
- routines and that they wished we would put it on CD.
-
- I have been collecting, organizing and distributing pd/shareware since 1982
- and some of these files may date back quite a ways. Being old does not mean
- that a file has necessarily lost its value. For example, BIZ_GRAF.ZIP in the
- BASIC section contains graphing routines for screen, printer and plotter that
- I wrote for a book for Sydex in 1983. The algorithms in them are just as good
- today.
-
- I have attempted to weed out older files that are completely outdated,
- technologically. However, my staff and I are not experts in every programming
- language, and even within languages we know, there may be specific areas in
- which we are not expert.
-
- As a result, there are probably files on this CD which have outlived their
- usefulness. Since we will be putting the updated Programming section on a
- monthly CD again some time in the future, you can help us improve that future
- CD, as well as our disk-based programming collection, by alerting us to files
- which you think should be removed.
-
- Even more importantly, if you have some interesting programming routines,
- tools, tips, etc., which you would like to add to the next Programming CD,
- please send it to PsL - Submissions, P.O.Box 35705, Houston, TX 77235-5705.
-
- New material will go onto our next Monthly CD, as well as on the next CD which
- features the Programming section.
-
- And of course, if you have used your programming skills to write a public
- domain or shareware program which you would like to get out to people all over
- the world on our Monthly CD, please send it as well.
-
- Thanks, and happy programming!
